About Us
Who is Promise Christian Academy?
Promise Christian Academy was founded six years ago to service children with multiple disablities. Our school integrates academic excellence and high nuture in a small classroom setting; we serve students who require intensive Occupational Therapy support. As one of only a handful of schools in the nation that do so with a faith-infused foundation, Promise allows students with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other pervasive developmental delays, the encouragement to develop to their highest potential.
We celebrate the unique design and gift set of each student and acknowledge God’s special love and provision for each child and family represented in the classroom. Our focus in on potential, not on labels and diagnostic classifications. Promise accepts differences - differences in learning style, differences in physical and cognitive ability and in differences in approach to soloving problems.
From a semantic point of view, we prefer the term “learning differences” to learning disablities; this allows students to see themselves as empowered rather than victimized by a label. Promise view differences as a unique design to be cultivated, supported and enriched. We view each disablity and physical handicap as a unique starting point for our students. Whether baby steps or giant leaps, Promise keeps optimism and hope alive by celebrating daily victories.
Mission
Promise Christian Academy provides an education for children who need alternative instructional approaches. Their education is rooted in biblical truth as interpreted by the Wesminster Confession of Faith, and seeks to reveal and develop in the life of the student those qualities and characteristics given by God for the student to fulfill God’s will and purpose for his/her life.

Philosophy
Promise Christian Academy provides a therapeutic approach to academic excellence for children with multiple disablities. We accept differences, celebrate uniqueness, cultivate awe and reverence toward God, and develop the whole child –body, mind and spirit. Our philiosphy of integration and celebration fosters in each student a high degree of self-worth, a desire to grow toward higher independence and a recognition of a divine design and purpose in all of life.
