Our teachers strive to be humble servants who are called by God to use professional methods, coupled with a heart of genuine care, to determine how best to meet the needs of each student. In all aspects of the program, teachers provide excellent academic instruction as they demonstrate by their words and actions the love and truth of God in the life of your child.
Mrs. Meredith Wiggers-Heintz – Administrator
Meredith brings 16 years of experience in her role as administrator to Promise. Her primary responsibilities include; supervising staff, staff development, day to day operations of the school and PR for Promise Christian Academy.. Meredith holds a B.S in Therapeutic Recreation with emphasis in pediatrics from Calvin College Her previous work experience includes leadership and managerial roles at Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church, Managerial roles in business and was the Director of Recreation Therapy at General Protestant Children’s Home.
Mrs. Kathy Bingley, SPL-CCC
Kathy provides 28 years of clinical and classroom experience in the field of Speech and Language. She holds a M.A. in Speech and Language Pathology, and has numerous certificates of competency. Her contributions to public, private and home school populations have benefited by her expertise. Her nurturing and playful personality draws PCA students and staff close to her.
Mrs. Tena Harjoe, M. Ed
A 28 year teaching veteran, Tena holds a B.A in Special and Elementary Education, and a M.A. in Severely Handicapped. She has taught in both public and private schools. She is a master at flexibility, compassion and intuitiveness. Her expertise as a special educator is priceless to the goals and commitments of PCA.
Mrs. Marlene Barron, OTR/L
Marlene brings 20 years experience to Promise and after many years working with children in various settings, has focused on sensory processing and how it affects a child’s ability to function at home, school, church and community. Marlene enjoys working with our fully integrated team to help elementary/middle school students function at their optimal level. Marlene holds a B.S. in Occupational Therapy from University of Kansas Medical Center.She is also certified in the beginning and advanced Therapetuic Listening (tm) Programs.
Miss Nina Matuszewski, OTR/L A graduate of Washington University of St. Louis, brings 13 years of experience working with children in home, community and school settings. She is certified in Therapeutic Listening and is a NARHA registered therapist in Hippotherapy. She enjoys incorporating occupational therapy into the classroom and daily routine as a means of facilitating increased engagement, participation, performance and success.
Mrs. Karen Carvalho
Karen brings 22 years of teaching experience to her role as an assistant teacher. Karen holds a B.A. in Communications with emphasis in education and is currently working on a Master’s Degree. Karen brings much knowledge of art, music, writing and drama to our team. Her enthusiasm for the students, energy and love of teaching prove an excellent match for Promise.
Mrs. Grayce Schiller
Grayce brings to Promise 17 years of teaching experience in both the public school and homeschooling her children. Grayce holds a BA in Special Education/Elementary Education from St. Louis University. Grayce is exicted to be a part of out team and utilize her gifts God has given her.
